About Miss World America

Miss World America is the USA national preliminary to the Miss World International contest. The United States has continuously sent a representative to Miss World since its inception in 1951. The United States has won the Miss World crown three times in 1973, 1990 and 2010. Currently, Miss World America is the official national pageant that selects the contestant from the United States to compete at Miss World.

Miss World America Nevada is the official state pageant that selects the contestant from California to compete at Miss World America. It is produced by World America West Pageant Productions LLC.

Our Team

Diane Schmidt - Director

Diane has been involved in the pageant industry for 25+ years as a contestant, pageant mom, judge, pageant director and pageant coach.  She is the mother of Kelsey Schmidt, Miss Washington USA 2016.  As a director Diane has two main objectives – 1. to ensure her titleholders are well prepared for the national competition and 2. to create a pageant experience that benefits every contestant by fostering a supportive community where each contestant experiences tremendous personal growth.  One key way she measures her success is by the number of contestants that return the following year.

Lynnette Sumodobila - Assistant Director

Lynnette has spent the last 27 years in California’s public sector successfully leading a strategic marketing and communications team.  She created and coordinated many public outreach events, managed statewide public education campaigns, produced cultural based conferences and authored many promotional/educational pieces.  Lynnette is excited to join the Miss World America organization to empower young women to realize their potential and to recognize the gifts they have.  As a recent retiree, she enjoyed doting on her two grandchildren, George (8) and Ryann (5)

Jennifer Stanley - Little Miss Coordinator

Jennifer is a California native.  Her day job is a medical desk assistant at the law firm of Adams, Ferrone & Ferrone.  She works with injured police and firemen dealing with work related injuries. Her nurturing nature extends into every facet of her life.  As the Little Miss Coordinator her goal is to inspire them to embrace individuality and find the light they carry within.  She is excited to help them learn to carry themselves with confidence and grace.  She describes herself as protective, patient, silly at times and nurturing.  Her nickname is Mama Bear although she stands barely 5 feet tall.  She says she connects easily with children because she’s about their size! In her free time you’ll find her up in the air on the aerial silks – best work out ever!  Her son, Drew is her heart and soul.

Jordan Sumodobila - Choreographer

Jordan began dancing at the age of 5.  She trained in ballet, jazzer’s, tap, and hip hop for 18 years in the Sa Francisco Bay Area.  Over the years she danced with a competitive team, hop hop dance crew and college cheer dance squad.  Jordan has competed in pageants in the US and the Philippines.  She received her PharmD degree at the University of the Pacific and now works as a clinical pharmacist for a non-profit community based health care organization. She also enjoys crochet and hand-lettering artistry.  Bur her greatest accomplishment are her two children and she recently acquired a new title – “Stage Mom” for 5 year old Ryann.

Louise Anderson - Hospitality

Louise recently retired from a long, successful career in corporate finance. Her career included Weyerhaeuser, Bank of America, and the Boeing company.  She received her MBA from the University of Washington and is a proud Husky supporter! she also received a Master from Berkeley in Zoology. Her hobbies include photography and compiling awesome videos for special events.  She has bee happily married for 30+ years to husband Jim and they have 3 children, Riley, Stephanie and Nolan.  Recent addition to the family – German Sheppard Neri who accompanies Louise everywhere.

Liz Tsai

Liz Tsai was born in Santa Clara, CA and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. As a third culture child she embraces the different values and customs unique to each culture. Liz graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration and pursued a career in the retail industry. Residing in Seattle, she currently manages a store that generates $10M a year in revenue while motivating 60 employees. In her free time she enjoys exploring the outdoors and experimenting with new cuisines.

Garrett Schmidt

Garrett has a great eye for fashion and is currently working at Neiman Marcus helping clients with all their wardrobe needs. 2 years ago he decided to get fit and dropped over 80 lbs! Now he is a fitness competitor and recently completed his 3rd show. Garrett also loves competing in hunter/jumper shows and had a very successful riding career during high school and college. It is a sport he hopes to get back to in the future.  When he’s not in the gym you will find him enjoying the outdoors or experimenting in the kitchen

Jo Ann Kobuke - Auditor

Jo Ann Kobuke is a retired CPA with 35 years experience in both public and private accounting.  She began her career in Seattle as an auditor with Price Waterhouse Cooper.  She then moved into private industry preferring to work in mission driven non-profit organizations.  After retiring, Jo Ann began a second career as a coach for midlife women helping them find fulfillment and happiness as they transition to a new phase of life.  Please check out her website
